Animal assisted therapy is used to enhance and compliment traditional psychotherapy by incorporating animals into the therapeutic process. Clients and animals work together in therapeutic activities to develop a strong bond, which allows the client to develop a better sense of self-worth and trust, stabilise emotions, and improve their communication, self-regulation and social skills.
Animal assisted therapy can help with a variety of experiences and conditions including:
· Stress
· Anxiety
· Depression
· Autism
· ADHD
